I recommend 0.25mm gap for a tight fit. For example, if you have 2 parts that you want to glue together after printing. If you have less than .25mm gap it will be hard to get the 2 parts together. Here is an example. The cup that this star trophy (my invention) holds is a separate part. The reason I made it a separate part is to minimize the amount of supports needed to make it. I used a .25mm gap between the hand and trophy cup.

For a fit where you want 2 parts to be able to move but not come apart easily, use a 0.5mm gap. I don’t have a picture on hand but an example of this would be a hole and post assembly, where you want the post to be rotate in the hole but not come undone.
